ABOUT THE MEN OF HARMONY
HISTORY
Established in 1970 by founder and director, the late Jim Gabrielse,
the Men of Harmony have been used by the Lord in over 500 Midwest
concert appearances and 12 Gospel recordings. Sharon Schmidt, choral
instructor in the Sheboygan Area School District, has served as
accompaniest since 1990. The chorus is comprised of talented singers
from throughout Eastern Wisconsin. Ecumenical in concept, the chorus
is taken from approximately 15 different churches and ten denominations.
There are ten founding members from 1970 still singing in the group.
Now under new leadership, the Men of Harmony continue to thrill audiences when ever they perform.
SERVICE
In addition to their concert appearances, the Men of Harmony have
initiated a variety of service projects. The include:
- Radio - Through benefit concerts and direct contributions, the
Men of Harmony have played a supportive role in making Christian
radio station, WJUB a reality for thousands of Wisconsin listeners.
- Scholarships - Many aspiring young Christian musicians have
been assisted through the Men of Harmony Vocal/Keyboard Scholarship
Program.
- Concert Series - Since 1978, the Men of Harmony have hosted
the Eastern Wisconsin Gospel Concert Series. Over the years, Gospel
Music fans from a wide area of Wisconsin have enjoyed personal
appearances by over 50 nationally acclaimed Christian concert
artists. The success of this concert series has made the Men of
Harmony one of the foremost promoters of professional Christian
